Country Day School Mission It is the mission of Country Day School (CDS), a private, non-sectarian, English-language school to serve students from early childhood through high school. CDS provides its students with a traditional college preparatory education committed to high academic standards and achievement through a balanced program structured primarily on United States curricula.
Here in our corner of Guanacaste, we are lucky to share our paradise with a prestigious member of the International School System. The Country Day School is a private academy for children of all ages, accommodating kindergarten through middle school as well as high school students. The non–sectarian program is Enlish based with a strong academic curriculum as well as a multitude of cultural and adventure related activities. The students experience many unique learning opportunities due to their exceptional surroundings.
The Costa Rican school year is normally from February until November or December, and the Spanish speaking schools follow that calendar. Country Day, however, follows the North American schedule and runs from mid August to mid June. All classes are taught in English with the exception of the Spanish language program, which is offered from K-12. The students are encouraged to perfect their Spanish speaking skills inside and outside of the classroom. Preparation For Colleges and Universities
